| Their Service - Our Heritage is an
innitiatve of the Federal Department of Veterans' Affairs. The program
seeks to preserve the memories of older veterans for future generations.
'Now is the time to build on the legacy of freedom won through their experiences to ensure that Australia's younger generations know fully of this service and sacrifice and ensure they remember it and our veterans with pride'. The commemorative program will, in the lead up to the centenary of Federation in 2001, provide all Australians with the opportunity to acknowledge the debt we all owe to those who served in the defence of Australia's freedom. Their Service - Our Heritage is about remembering and honouring. It is, for the first time, a comprehensive program of commemorative activities and projects covering all wars and conflicts in which Australia has taken part. For further information, contact:
